In my spare time, I enjoy creating and selling hand bound books. My books are made using a variety of fine, archival materials. I usually visit small, independent fabric or art stores to find unique paper or fabric for the covers. The interior pages are either 80 lb Strathmore Aquarius II watercolor paper, 80 lb Strathmore Drawing paper, or a combination of the two. I have left them intentionally blank to serve a variety of purposes: sketching, painting, journaling, scrapbook, photo album, or anything you can think of! Most of my books are bound by an ancient method of bookbinding called the Coptic stitch. Occasionally, I also use a hard spine, as seen here. I am always experimenting with new ways to bind them. For the colored end papers I use Canson Mi-Tienes paper. All books are one of a kind. |
